Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for 2015 announced, Madhavan and Jyothika declared best actors

Sudha Kongara won the Best Director Award for 'Irudhi Suttru' and Arvind Swami bagged the Best Villain Award for 'Thani Oruvan'.

Tamil Nadu State Film Awards 2015

The Tamil Nadu State government’s Film Awards for the year 2015 have been announced.

The award ceremony will be held at TN Rajarathinam Kalai Arangam in Chennai on Wednesday, 6 March.

Minister for Information and Publicity MP Saminathan will give away the awards.

According to a government statement, the winners would get a gold medal and a cash award.

The Best Film award has been conferred to Thani Oruvan (2015) directed by Mohan Raja. Jayam Ravi appeared in the lead role in the movie. While actor Madhavan won the Best Actor award for Irudhi Suttru (2016), Jyotika won the Best Actress award for 36 Vayadhinile(2016), respectively.

Sudha Kongara clinched the Best Director Award for Irudhi Suttru and actor Arvind Swami bagged the Best Villain Award for Thani Oruvan.

Irudhi Suttru also won the Best Film (Special Prize), while its lead actor Ritika Singh won the Best Actress (Special Prize) Award.

36 Vayadhinile clinched the Best Film About Women Empowerment (Special Prize) Award.

Comedian Singam Puli bagged the Best Comedian (Male) Award for his role in Anjukku Onnu (2016).

Devadarshini won the Best Comedian (Female) Award for her role in Thiruttu Kalyanam (2019) and 36 Vayadhinile.
