Suriya's 'Kanguva' gets a release date—14 November. (X)
Suriya’s much-anticipated movie, Kanguva, has finally got a release date. The Siva’s directorial will hit the screens worldwide on 14 November coinciding with Children’s Day. It will also be released in 3D format and 10 languages.
Earlier, it was announced that the Tamil movie would be released for Dasara on 10 October along with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.
However, the film’s producer KE Gnanavel Raja expressed his respect for Rajinikanth and clarified that they don’t intend to release Kanguva on the same date as Vettaiyan. Incidentally, at that time, the release date of Vettaiyan wasn’t announced.
The Kanguva team believed that the Vettiyan makers were eyeing for a Diwali release. But with the Rajinikanth-starrer deciding to move ahead with 10 October as its release date, the release date of Suriya’s Kanguva has now been pushed to 14 November.
Announcing the release date, Studio Green, the production house of Kanguva, wrote on X, “The Battle of Pride and Glory, for the World to Witness. Kanguva’s mighty reign storms screens from 14- 11-24 #KanguvaFromNov14”.

The most-awaited Tamil film features a stellar cast, including Bobby Deol, Disha Patani in her Tamil debut, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, and KS Ravikumar.
Bobby Deol is making his Tamil debut with the movie and plays the antagonist.
The cinematography was handled by Vetri Palanisamy, and the editing was taken care of by Nishadh Yusuf, while the music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Gnanavel Raja also announced that there will be a sequel for the movie. According to him, Kanguva will conclude with an intriguing twist, which will make way for setting the stage for a sequel. He stated that filming for the sequel will begin by late 2025 and Kanguva Part 2 will mostly be released in 2027.
Meanwhile, Suriya is also working on his 44th movie, an untitled project directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The shooting of this romantic-action drama was held in Thodupuzha in Kerala recently.
The ambitious movie stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran. Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music.
After the Karthik Subbaraj movie, Suriya will start his long-awaited project with Vetrimaaran, Vaadivaasal.
