Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Saturday, 28 September, refused to comment on the ongoing Tirupati Laddu row.
The Vettaiyan actor was seen interacting with the reporters at the Chennai airport. Responding to a question from one of the reporters regarding the recent row over the Tirupati Laddu, Rajinikanth refused to comment.
In the news clips now viral on X, he can be heard saying, “No comments.”
In the same clip, he also speaks about his upcoming film Vettaiyan, “Lot of expectations are around it, and I hope it fulfils the expectations.”
Directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021) fame and bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film is all set to hit the screens on 10 October.
Vettaiyan also features Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Ritika Singh. The film was shot across several locations in South India and Mumbai.
The Tamil movie features music by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth.
The technical team also includes cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.
A few days ago, actor Karthi was caught in a controversy for refusing to speak on the same issue. While promoting his film Sathyam Sundaram, Karthi was asked to comment on the Tirupati Laddu issue. His response, suggesting that the topic should be set aside due to its sensitivity, drew criticism from Pawan Kalyan.
The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, visibly upset, responded sternly: “People are making fun of Laddu. Don’t you ever dare say such things. I respect you as actors, but when it comes to Sanatana Dharma, you have to think a hundred times before saying a word.”
In response to this, Karthi apologised to Pawan Kalyan for the unintended misunderstanding caused as regards the Tirupati Laddu controversy.
