Lyca Productions, the makers of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan, announced that Fahadh Faasil has started dubbing for the movie. Rajinikanth completed filming his parts in May, and Vettaiyan is currently undergoing post-production.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for directing the Suriya-starrer Jai Bhim (2021), the highly anticipated film boasts an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, and VJ Rakshan.

Vettaiyan is set to release in theatres in October. Notably, the film marks the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after 33 years, following their previous collaborations in films like Andhaa Kaanoon (1983) and Geraftaar (1985). Their last film together was Hum, released in 1991.

Anirudh Ravichander provides the music for Vettaiyan, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023). The film’s technical team includes cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Further, there were widespread reports on social media suggesting that Fahadh Faasil was considered for a role in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Coolie. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who previously collaborated with Fahadh in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram (2022), was reportedly interested in casting him and had discussions with the actor.

Coolie has already commenced shooting at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. While Fahadh was approached for Coolie, he had multiple other commitments lined up which prevented him from taking on the project.

Regarding his role in Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, Fahadh mentioned that he plays a comedic character, diverging from his usual antagonist roles in Tamil cinema. Rajinikanth plays a righteous cop in the film, marking their first on-screen collaboration and raising expectations among fans.

Fahadh Faasil is currently juggling several projects, such as Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rule, Don’t Trouble the Trouble, and Oxygen, along with Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira and Bougainvillea.

Arka Mediaworks and Showing Business, associated with SS Rajamouli and SS Karthikeya respectively, announced their collaboration to produce two upcoming Telugu films, starring Fahadh Faasil.

Don’t Trouble The Trouble is a fantasy film scheduled for a 2025 release, directed by Shashank Yeleti. Oxygen, inspired by true events and centres around themes of friendship and transformation, will begin filming this year under Siddhartha Nadella’s direction. Both movies feature music by Kaala Bhairava, son of Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani.
