On 14 July, the makers of Raayan released a new poster that announced the date of the trailer launch. The next day too, they unveiled another poster about the trailer launch date. While the first poster featured Dhanush in an intense look, the second one revealed the main actors in the Tamil film.
Needless to say, the posters piqued the interest of the moviegoers and also increased expectations for the film among fans. And now, the intriguing trailer promised a riveting watch.
Raayan was mostly filmed in Chennai and Karaikudi. It was initially planned for release on 13 June but was postponed for some reason. It will hit the screens on 26 July, two days before Dhanush’s birthday. The film has already been certified with “A”. It has a runtime of two hours and 25 minutes.
Raayan marks Dhanush’s 50th film as an actor and his second as a director. Pa Paandi (2017) was his maiden directorial.
The actor is currently working on Sekhar Kammula’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual film Kubera. He is playing Ilaiyaraaja in the legendary music composer’s biopic directed by Arun Matheswaran. The director earlier worked with Dhanush on Captain Miller (2024).
Further, Dhanush recently announced his third directorial, Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, with Priya Prakash Varrier, Mathew Thomas, and Anikha Surendran.
