Malayalam actor Manju Warrier will next be seen in Rajinikanth’s most-awaited Tamil movie, Vettaiyan. She will portray Rajinikanth’s wife in the film, which will be released in theatres on 10 October.
In an interview with the Times of India, Manju Warrier revealed that she plays the role of Tara, a vlogger, in Vettaiyan. She mentioned that her role will have a significant presence and influence the life of Rajinikanth’s character.
The actor also shared her excitement about working with Rajinikanth. She said she had only seen his stylish mannerisms and swag in films before. “It’s something I have liked seeing on screen, and to see that in person was an entirely different experience.”
Further, Manju Warrier praised the work of director TJ Gnanavel in Jai Bhim (2021), where Lijomol Jose delivered one of her best performances. She noted that the film showcased how skilled Gnanavel was in bringing out wonderful performances from actors.
She added that after watching Jai Bhim, she wished to work with Gnanavel, and was delighted when he approached her for the role in Vettaiyan.
Manju Warrier also expressed her honour in sharing screen space with actors like Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi. She will be seen alongside Vijay Sethupathi in Viduthalai Part 2. According to her, both actors have their own unique identities and are loved for them.
When discussing the Manasilayo song, Manju Warrier shared that shooting for the song was a fun experience. She mentioned that it was her first time participating in such a grand-scale song sequence, with numerous dancers performing the same hook step.
“I haven’t really done a song on such a grand scale before. I’ve only seen and enjoyed such songs in movies till now, and being part of one feels nice. I couldn’t even count the number of dancers! Also, it’s the first time I’ve danced to an Anirudh song,” she said.
When asked about Viduthalai Part 2, Manju Warrier explained that Vetri Maaran discussed the character with her, and she eagerly accepted the opportunity. “Who would want to miss a Vetri Maaran film?” she remarked.
The Malayalam actor also revealed that the crew had already shot some portions of the film, and Vetrimaaran decided to add her character later.
Further, she expressed her gratitude for fitting into the director’s vision and confirmed that most of her scenes are yet to be filmed.
Manju Warrier was last seen in the Malayalam film Footage, which received positive feedback from the audience.
