Dhanush’s second directorial Raayan became a superhit and entered the ₹150-crore club, thus becoming the highest-grossing Tamil movie in 2024. The movie boasted an intense story of siblings and beautifully highlighted the brother-sister relationship.
Raayan is now available on Netflix in Tamil. The Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi. and Kannada dubbed versions are also streaming on the OTT platform.
The film received a rare honour recently when its screenplay was selected for inclusion in the library of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Meanwhile, Dhanush signed a film with director Mari Selvaraj. The duo earlier worked on Karnan (2021), a critically acclaimed flick where Dhanush played the titular role.
About his new film with Dhanush, Mari Selvaraj stated the film was announced last year and has been tentatively titled Production No. 15. The film will be produced by Dhanush under his banner Wunderbar Films.
However, the project will start rolling after Mari Selvaraj wraps up his next directorial venture, Bison. The Tamil movie completed almost 60 percent of the shooting.
A sports drama, it revolves around the life of Kabbadi player Manathi Ganesan. It stars Dhruv Vikram in the lead role.
Anupama Parameswaran, Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, and Kalaiyarasan play key roles in it. The film will be produced by Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios.

Mari Selvaraj is basking in the success of Vaazhai, which won a tremendous response from the audience and critics alike. The children’s film is running successfully in theatres.
Vaazhai is based on the true events in Mari Selvaraj’s life. It is termed the director’s most personal film.
