SIIMA Awards 2023: Jr NTR bags Best Actor Award, fans elated
Sreeleela won the Best Actress Award for 'Dhamaka', Mrunal Thakur the Best Actress (Critics) Award for 'Sita Ramam' and SS Rajamouli the Best Director Award for 'RRR'.

Sreeleela bagged the Best Actress Award for Dhamaka(2022). The others in the race included Neha Shetty for DJ Tillu (2022), Nithya Menon for Bheemla Nayak (2022), Samantha Ruth Prabhu for Yashoda(2022), and Meenakshi Chaudhary for HIT 2 (2022).
Mrunal Thakur received the Best Debutant Actress (Critics) and Best Actress In a Leading Role (Critics) Award for her impressive performance in Sita Ramam (2022).
While the Best Film went to Sita Ramam, SS Rajamouli clinched the Best Director Award for RRR.
Sashi Kiran Tikka for Major (2022), which was based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was martyred in action during the Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008, was in the race too.
Vimal Krishna for Siddhu Jonnalagadda-starrer DJ Tillu, Hanu Raghavapudi for Sita Ramam, and Chandoo Mondeti for Karthikeya 2 (2022) were also nominated in the best director category.
Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan won the Flipkart Fashion Youth Icon and Bellamkonda Ganesh bagged the Promising Newcomer Award.
Meanwhile, fans of Jr NTR are all elated to have their actor receiving the award.
The actor is now working on an upcoming project titled Devera helmed by Koratala Siva.
Another news that is doing rounds is that Jr NTR will soon join hands with Shyam Singha Roy (2021) director Rahul Sankrityan. Both are in talks to collaborate for a period action drama.
Rahul Sankrityan is known for delivering a hit with Vijay Deverakonda in the past with Taxiwala (2018). Later, he impressed everyone with Shyam Singha Roy which is also partly a periodic film and is loosely inspired by the devadasi system during medieval India.
The film starring Nani, Sai Pallavi, and Krithi Shetty impressed audiences to some extent.
