Shruti Haasan to star in Toxic?

Rocking Star Yash’s much-anticipated Kannada film Toxic is in the news again.

It is reported that singer-actor Shruthi Haasan might star in the ambitious film to be directed by Geetu Mohandas.

According to the Times of India report, Shruti Haasan will play an important role in the movie.

The tagline, ‘A fairy tale for grownups’, assures ‘Toxic’ to be a thriller filled with high-octane action sequences.

The one-minute-17-second title announcement video of Toxic, released earlier, had several interesting features, including Yash’s avatar as a circus joker with tickets burning.

It eventually reveals the Kannada actor in his trademark beard look holding a Tommy gun in a gangster attire with a blazer and a hat on.

Meanwhile, a 20-second clip of Kareena Kapoor announcing that she is doing a “big South film” is doing rounds on X.

In the clip, which is a part of her recent interview, Kareena Kapoor is heard saying she is now part of a South film, which might be pan-Indian.

Despite the actor not revealing further details, it is speculated that she is referring to Toxic.

Shruti Haasan was last seen in Prabhas-starrer Salaar. She is now donning the role of a music composer for the music video Inimel, produced by his actor-father Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.

Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj is making his acting debut in the video. Kamal Haasan wrote the lyrics.

On Tuesday, 19 March, the makers released a role reversal clip, which is trending on social media.
