In a tragic road accident near Paraiyur, close to Palacode in Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko’s father, Sibi Chacko, lost his life after the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry on the Hosur National Highway.
The accident occurred during the wee hours of Friday, 6 June.
The actor and his family were reportedly travelling from Kerala to Bengaluru in a single vehicle when the incident occurred. Shine Tom Chacko was accompanied by his father Sibi Chacko, mother Mathia Carmel, and another family member. As their car was moving along the highway near Bommanalli, it rammed into a lorry in front of it, leading to a major accident.
Sibi Chacko died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. His body has been taken to the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital, where it is currently kept in the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Actor Shine Tom Chacko’s mother, Mathia Carmel, sustained serious injuries in the crash and has been admitted to the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
Shine Tom Chacko was recently in news following allegations of drug use on the movie sets. Actor Vincy Aloshious spoke about being mistreated by him on a film set.
While speaking of the same, Vincy had also claimed that Shine Tom Chacko was under the influence of drugs. She added, “When we were practising a scene, he was spitting some kind of white powder onto the table. It was very evident that he was using drug on the film set.”
However, she had later decided to withdraw her complaint against co-actor Shine Tom Chacko, citing a “breach of trust”.
In April, the actor was arrested by Kerala police and later released on bail in the drug related case after he fled a hotel as the police were conducting a raid. The actor was booked under sections 27 (consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
