CinemaSnippets: Director Santhakumar’s ‘Rasavathi-The Alchemist’ in post-production stage now

Rasavathi-The Alchemist has been extensively shot across the exotic locales of Kodaikanal, Madurai, Cuddalore and Palani. The post-production work is in full swing.

SS Thaman, who scored music for Santhakumar’s previous flicks, scored the music for this film, too.

One other significant fact about Rasavathi-The Alchemist is that Santhakumar also produced it. This is the first time that the director is turning producer.

The cinematography is by Saravanan Elavarasu and Sivakumar. The editing is by VJ Sabu Joseph.

Kangana Ranaut’s first look in ‘Chandramukhi 2’

On Saturday, 5 August, the makers of the much-awaited horror-comedy-thriller Chandramukhi 2 released the first look of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the film.

The film, which evoked huge expectations among audiences, is a sequel to one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil cinema — Chandramukhi (2005).

Chandramukhi 2 is currently in post-production and is scheduled to hit the screens for Vinayaka Chavithi.

Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut reprises Jyothika’s role as “Chandramukhi” in the sequel.

Lyca Films is producing it. The production house took to social media to release the first-look poster of Kangana.

This is the second poster of the film; the first one revealed Raghava Lawrence’s look as Vettaiyan.

Vadivelu, whose comedy with Rajinikanth worked big time in Chandramukhi, is also a part of the sequel.

The film also casts Mahima Nambiar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Rao Ramesh, Vignesh, Ravi Maria, Suresh Menon, and Subiksha Krishnan.

Thotta Tharani is the art director. Anthony RD is the editor. Rajashekar is the cinematographer and Academy Award winner MM Keeravani is the music composer.

Vishnu Vishal finishes Lal Salaam shoot

Actor Vishnu Vishal, who plays one of the two leads along with Vikranth in director Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s upcoming action thriller Lal Salaam, has announced that he finished shooting for his portions in the film.

Taking to Twitter, Vishnu wrote: “And it’s a wrap for me for #LalSalaam. What a journey this has been… Emotional and overwhelmed.. Learnt so much.. Thanks to my director @ash_rajinikanth and @LycaProductions for this memorable journey.”

Interestingly, Superstar Rajinikanth plays a cameo as Moideen Bhai in the movie. A few days ago, Aishwarya announced that her dad completed shooting for his portions.

This is Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s third film as a director.

Lal Salaam, which is being produced by well-known production house Lyca Productions, has music by AR Rahman.

It has cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and art direction by Ramu Thangaraj.
