Pan-Indian star Prabhas’ latest box-office release Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire has been trending on X for the wrong reasons since Tuesday evening, 26 December.
Netizens kept sharing videos that exposed how the Salaar team allegedly showed the morning shows as housefull on the BookMyShow app and other ticket booking apps.
But in reality, all multiplexes were closed during the morning hours.
Following the latest development, the box office collections of Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer came under the scanner. Netizens wondered if the collections of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire were true or just hype to cash in more footfalls.

The makers of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire are also facing allegations of significant box office manipulation with claims of inflating the figures by nearly ₹100 crore!
The controversy was stoked when the official poster indicated a global business of ₹402 crore within three days. However, various trade and entertainment websites, including Box Office India and Pinkvilla, reported the actual figures to be ₹304 crore.
Usually, the variation between official and trade figures for a film is approximately ₹8 to 10 crore. However, in the case of Salaar, this difference is estimated to be around ₹100 crore!
Meanwhile, netizens applauded the makers of Animalfor putting up genuine box office numbers without inflating even ₹1 crore, while Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire makers inflated by a massive margin of ₹100 crore.
This is an unhealthy trend as most people know the real numbers anyway due to many trackers now, one user wrote.
