Saddu! Vicharane Nadeyuttide review: Nothing exciting about this whodunnit

This Madhu Nandan, Achyuth Kumar, and Paavana Gowda-starrer lacks the vital aspect of a murder mystery: the edge-of-the-seat experience.

In this day and age of superfast Internet facilities, multiple options are available for the audience in entertainment.

Be it brand-new additions such as OTT platforms, or finding the best crime/suspense thriller on the Net, they are all as easy as taking away candy from an adolescent.

Under the circumstances, a film that is made for two-plus hours needs to equip itself with an outstanding script to become a mind-blowing suspense thriller.

It should leave the audience awestruck, giving them an experience of a lifetime, or an unheard or unseen thriller.

Only then would any whodunnit saga on the big screen successfully survive. If not, the performance has to be top-notch so that even a shaky script does not alter the fun of that “big moment of reveal” in the end.

And here we have Saddu! Vichara Nadeyuttide (which in English translates as, “Keep Quiet! The Inquiry is On”), which is about a couple (from different castes, played by Madhu Nandan and Paavana Gowda) in love who are mysteriously murdered. What follows is the hunt for the culprit.

Achyuth Kumar at his best

The first half takes its own time before it sets the tempo of the tale. It is more or less the introduction of characters and their connection to each other.

Since Saddu! Vicharane Nadeyuttide is a whodunnit, there has to be a smart guy, and newbie Madhu Nandan plays Prithviraj, an in-charge police officer who investigates the crime.

Then come the possible suspects and some innocents on display for the audience to start the guessing game on who could be the murderer.

Giving away the story of a whodunnit saga is an unforgivable crime, but let me share a sneak peek into who the killer is.

Well, as usual, look out for the unexpected one. The glimpse is meant only for those who felt some excitement when reading about this mystery saga so far.

Achyuth Kumar is the pick of the lot and a couple of songs composed by Sachin Basrur are one among the few positives that help us bear the movie till the climax.

The rest is extremely ordinary and is in no way near the brilliant whodunnits which are easily available on multiple OTT platforms.
