Sachin Tendulkar invited to be the chief guest at ‘800’ trailer event

Originally made in Tamil, the biopic film '800' will be simultaneously released in Telugu, Hindi, and English languages.

Who can forget legendary spinner Muthiah Muralidaran? This freakishly talented Lankan bowler boasted some deadly weapons at his disposal to make any top batsman topple at the crease.

Perhaps, he is the only bowler in the history of International Test cricket to take 800 wickets. And to his numerous fans across the globe, his biopic will soon hit theatres.

Movie Train Motion Pictures is making a grand sports-based film titled 800. Madhur Mittal of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) essays the role of Muralidaran in the film.

Mahima Nambiar plays Madhimalar Ramamurthy, the former cricketer’s wife, in it. Directed by MS Sripathy, 800 is co-written by the Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka.

Its trailer event is going to be held on a grand scale in Mumbai, on Tuesday, 5 September.

Former Indian cricket champion Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is widely known as the God of Cricket, will grace the event as the chief guest.

Sachin played some iconic matches against the Lankans when Muralitharan was part of the team Sri Lanka. Despite their on-field rivalry, the two legends have always shared a good camaraderie off the field.

It is sensational that Tendulkar will be there for the special occasion on Tuesday.

Distribution rights acquired by Sridevi Movies

Senior Telugu producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies recently acquired the distribution rights of 800 for the entire country across all languages.

Originally made in Tamil, the film will be released in Telugu, Hindi and English simultaneously. The promotional activities will be stepped up after the release of the trailer.

Talking about the high-profile trailer launch event, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad said, “I am very happy that our ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar is gracing the trailer launch event tomorrow.”

He further added, “He mesmerised crores of Indians with his game on the field. Muralitharan, other famous cricketers and several movie celebrities are likely to attend the event. The post-production of 800 is going on at a fast pace.”
