Actor Rajisha Vijayan has kickstarted the promotions of her upcoming Malayalam film Madhura Manohara Moham (Feeling Happy).

But this time, unlike the regular press conference and events, she chose to draw the attention of audiences to her flick in a different way. The actor is walking through the streets and exhorting the people to watch the movie.

Stephy Zaviour, one of Malayalam cinema’s celebrated costume designers, is making her directorial debut with Madhura Manohara Moham.

Madhura Manohara Moham is expected to explore the inter-faith and inter-caste romance of two couples and how they convince their families.

Apart from Rajisha Vijayan, the comedy-drama also features Saiju Kurup, Bindu Panicker, Arsha Baiju, Vijayaraghavan, and Sharafudeen in major roles. The movie is hitting the screens on 16 June.

Invitations handed over

In the promotional video, lead actress Rajisha Vijayan is seen asking the passersby and onlookers “What makes them happy?”. To this, they all came up with interesting answers.

A student replied that she would like to visit Germany. To this, Rajisha responded that she went to Germany recently and it was a good place to visit.

Another student expressed her desire to join the Indian Army which Rajisha Vijayan appreciated.

The actor also inquired the vendors and lottery sellers who were busy with their businesses about their happiness.

After seeking their answers, she handed over the invitation of Madhu Manohara Moham to everyone.

A few onlookers recalled that all this felt like the old system of distributing film posters among the public, a couple of days before the release. Also, the posters used to have a brief description of the plot which is believed to woo the audience to talkies (old theatres constructed with thatched roofs in villages).

Interestingly, during the release of Neelavelicham (2023), the makers distributed posters among people in markets, busy junctions, bus stops, and other public places.

Stephy Saviour is a busy costume designer in the Malayalam cinema. She started her career when she was 23. To date, she worked in more than 90 films, including Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi (2015), Guppy (2016) and Ezra (2018).

According to Stephy, the most expensive work she did was for Aarattu (2021).

In 2016, she won her first Kerala State Award for Costume Designer for her work in the movie Guppy.

Interestingly, Stephy Saviour is not handling the costume department in her directorial debut. Instead, Sanooj — who has been working with Stephy as an assistant — is designing the costumes for the film. This is Sanooj’s first movie as an independent costume designer.

Madhura Manohara Moham is produced by B3M Creations. The screenplay is written by Mahesh Gopal and Jai Vishnu. Chandru Selvaraj is handling the cinematography.

The songs are composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab. The makers released “Ayyapaswamyalle” song recently which is doing well on social media.
