The makers of Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film Pushpa: The Rule aka Pushpa 2 have created some excitement among film lovers by announcing the 200-day countdown on social media.
As the film is scheduled to make its theatrical release on Independence Day this year, 15 August, the latest buzz is about the leaked viral photo purportedly from the film sets of Pushpa 2 featuring Pushpa (Allu Arjun) in a saree similar to the one seen in the announcement poster.
Allu Arjun reprises the role of Pushpa Raju Molleti aka Pushpa in Pushpa 2, while Malayalam star actor Fahadh Faasil plays SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Srivalli, Pushpa’s wife.
Prakash Raj appears as Mangalam Prakash, Sunil as Mangalam Srinu, and Anasuya Bharadwaj plays the crucial role of Mangalam Dakshayani in the sequel.
Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, and Dhananjay will be seen in crucial roles in the film.
According to sources, the filmmakers have dedicated 35 days to shooting a specific sequence — “Gangamma Thalli Jathara“.
This crucial 12-minute scene includes a powerful background song, showcasing Allu Arjun making a bold statement in a saree and wearing jewellery and a lemon garland.
The leaked image of “Pushpa in a saree” has sparked a frenzy on social media, with fans coming up with various theories.
It is learnt that Allu Arjun’s distinctive look in saree may be related to the “Gangamma Thalli Jathara” episode, an annual week-long celebration held in Tirupati.
During this event, on the last day, men traditionally dress up as women to represent Gangamma, a revered deity known for her role in warding off evil forces.
