Telugu character artiste-turned-producer -turned-politician Bandla Ganesh is embroiled in a legal tangle after the district court in Ongole sentenced him to one year in jail in connection with a cheque bounce case.
The ruling came after one Jetti Venkateshwarlu approached the court alleging that Bandla Ganesh’s cheque amounting to ₹95 lakh was bounced.
The case was heard by the Additional District Judge, with Bandla Ganesh himself present during the proceedings.
Following deliberations, the judge ruled in favour of Venkateshwarlu and further ordered Bandla Ganesh to serve a one-year prison term.
The court also directed the actor-producer to repay the ₹95 lakh within 30 days.
It is learnt that the producer can appeal the court’s directive within one month.
Actor-producer-politician Bandla Ganesh has been in the news for various reasons.
A staunch supporter of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, the producer frequently attends pre-release events of films.
