Telugu filmmaker Harish Shankar expressed his anguish over trolls who have been targeting him on social media.

At the Eagle success meet held in Hyderabad on Sunday, 11 February, the director raised various issues about him and the film industry at large.

He expressed anger over several media outlets which had been publishing articles about him without verifying the facts.

“Stories are being generated stating that I am making a comeback after a long gap. Some write that I am doing one film in five years,” he pointed out.

Harish Shankar also recalled how he faced ridicule from relatives when he expressed his desire to choose films as his career.

Many of his relatives dubbed him “Eeedo pedda Mani Ratnam mari…” (He thinks he is another Mani Ratnam in the making!).

“However, I proved my mettle after entering the industry. People who dream of making big in films make so many sacrifices to pursue a career in the industry,” he asserted.

About the current trend of ratings and reviews Harish Shankar underscored that film journalism was an integral part of the movie industry.

Harish Shankar’s remarks have been gaining traction on social media since Sunday night.

It’s worth noting that the filmmaker is working on his upcoming project titled Mr Bachchan under the banner of People’s Media Factory.

Touted to be a heist thriller, Mr Bachchan is a remake of the Bollywood film Raid (2018).

Post the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Harish Shankar will focus on completing Ustaad Bhagat Singh for Pawan Kalyan.

Though there are rumours about a possible film with Megastar Chiranjeevi, no official announcement has been made yet.
