Pre-release trailer for 'Manorathangal' hints at something big in the offing

Ahead of its online premiere on 15 August, the makers of the upcoming anthology series, Manorathangal (Mindscapes), have unveiled a pre-release trailer.

The star-studded pre-release trailer was launched on YouTube with the caption: “Get ready for the biggest anthology series ever, showcasing the timeless stories of the legendary MT Vasudevan Nair.”

The makers added, “Featuring stellar performances from cinema icons Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, and Mohanlal, this series brings together the best of Malayalam cinema. Embark on this unforgettable journey through the masterful narratives of one of India’s greatest storytellers!”

The Manorathangal pre-release trailer has glimpses from each of the shorts based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s nine stories, which are part of the series.

Earlier, at an event held in Kochi in July, the makers launched the official trailer for the anthology series. The trailer launch was organised on the occasion of the 91st birthday of Jnanpith award winner Vasudevan Nair, who wrote the script for the web show.

Tamil superstar Kamal Hassan presented the anthology series. The trailer features him saying, “MT Vasudevan Nair is the definition of modernity in Malayalam literature.”

Mammootty said Manorathangal would be a different project as anthologies are rarely made in Malayalam. He also stated that the anthology series would be a remarkable venture.
