Sandeep Reddy Vanga Prabhas Spirit

Nearly six and half years after Arjun Reddy (2017), its director Sandeep Reddy Vanga will return to Tollywood to set the ball rolling for Rebel Star Prabhas with Spirit. The actor is likely to be seen as a cop in the flick.

His much-talked and debated project Spirit, even though not much of it is available in the public domain, sparked curiosity among film buffs.

Spirit is expected to go on floors in June next year. Its filmmakers — T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures — announced the update on X.

Upcoming projects

Though the script of Spirit seems to be ready, there may be an inordinate delay from director Sandeep as he is now occupied with Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.

It is learnt that the Arjun Reddy director will take a six-month break after the release of Animal and get back to work for Spirit.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga will have another massive responsibility of handling National Award-winning star Allu Arjun. The film with the Iconic Star is expected to go on the sets post-completion of the Prabhas movie.

Arjun Reddy

Undeniably, Sandeep Reddy earned a craze among audiences for his style of filmmaking through Arjun Reddy.

The film received flak for the portrayal of the lead character Arjun Reddy Deshmukh (Vijay Deverakonda), the young practising doctor who falls in love with his junior Preethi Shetty (Shalini Pandey).

Post the success, the filmmaker flew to Mumbai to remake it in Hindi as Kabir Singh (2019) starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Kabir Singh earned the makers a massive ₹400 crore at the box office worldwide.

Hopes pinned on Spirit

Meanwhile, Prabhas seems to have pinned good hopes on Spirit as his last two outings Radhe Shyam (2022) and Adipurush (2023) were badly trolled on the internet.

However, filmgoers can’t wait for Salaar: Ceasefire to arrive in cinemas. The movie is scheduled for release this month but got delayed due to post-production work.

On Wednesday, 13 September, the makers put up a post on social media confirming the delay in release and apologised.

There have been massive expectations on director Prashanth Neel after he delivered a blockbuster KGF franchise (2018 & 2022).
