salaar teaser fans disappointed

The much-anticipated teaser of Rebel Star Prabhas’ forthcoming flick Salaar evoked mixed responses from fans this morning, 6 July.

Interestingly, #Disappointed started trending on social media platforms within a few minutes after the makers — Hombale Films — unveiled the teaser.

Several memes and puns started circulating on social media as fans waited with bated breath for the Salaar teaser even before the scheduled time — 5.12 AM.

Has KGF shades but not at par

The shots in the teaser have KGF shades. The short video looked more like a glimpse than what was promised.

The makers cleverly crafted the dialogues in “simple English” so that Prabhas fans of all languages can resonate with the theme and thus decreasing the burden of multi-language cut.

In the opening dialogue, Tinnu Anand says, “Simple English, no confusion…” as a gunman approaches him from the opposite side.

The film buffs regretted that Salaar has copied everything from KGF — right from music to style and theme to fight sequences. They also pointed out that the teaser isn’t at par and expressed their disappointment with director Prashanth Neel.

Nevertheless, the visuals in the teaser cut raised massive expectations among a few movie lovers for Salaar‘s rich technical values and mass elevations.

Indeed, the makers claimed that the teaser got 8.5 million views within five hours of its release on YouTube and 10 million-plus real-time views.

The makers gave a small glimpse of Prabhas without dialogue.

Meanwhile, Prabhas’ fans felt that the dialogues in the teaser could have been more impactful.

Netizens on Twitter hoped that Salaar would match the audiences’ expectations, especially after the Adipurush debacle.

Ceasefire on 28 September

Prabhas plays the titular role of “Salaar” in the pan-India flick, while Prithviraj Sukumaran appears as “Vardharaja Mannaar”.

Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Shruti Haasan, and Tinnu Anand play key roles.

The music composed by Ravi Basrur sounds quite similar to KGF which was penned and directed by Prashanth Neel.

As mentioned by the makers, Salaar is a two-part film; the first part — Ceasefire — is scheduled for a theatrical release on 28 September.

The movie is shot in Telugu and will be dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
