Case filed against Manjummel Boys producers

The producers of the blockbuster Malayalam movie Manjummel Boys have landed in trouble.

The Ernakulam Maradu police have registered a case against producers Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir, and Babu Shahir following an order from the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court.

The case involves charges of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and forgery.

Siraj, a resident of Aroor, filed a petition in court where he claimed that the Manjummel Boys producers cheated him by not repaying the amount they took from him.

In his petition, Siraj stated that Manjummel Boys producers approached him to invest in the film production. They promised him a 40 percent share in the profits after the release.

The complainant said he entered into an agreement with Parava Films on 30 November 2022 to invest an amount of ₹7 crore in different instalments.

He also alleged that he was made to believe that the makers invested ₹22 crore in the film, while the actual investment was only ₹10 crore.

In his petition, Siraj claimed that the producers neither paid him the promised share in the profits nor repaid the amount he invested in the movie.

Meanwhile, Manjummel Boys grossed over ₹200 crore at the global box office and is still running to packed houses in several areas.

The blockbuster hit will soon be premiered on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.
