With just three films under his belt, Telugu actor Panja Vaishnav Tej has become one of the most sought-after onscreen heroes currently in Tollywood.
Undoubtedly, it’s the National Award-winning film Uppena (2021) that put him in the limelight.
The nephew of Megastar Chiranjeevi says that his regular interactions with his uncle Pawan Kalyan keeps him grounded. Not just about films, he says that frequent chats with Pawan Kalyan help him understand life in multiple dimensions.
Ahead of his film Aadikeshava‘s release in theatres on 24 November, Vaishnav Tej opened up to the media about his choices, fame, and other projects.
Directed by Srikanth N Reddy, the movie is about a love story that takes place during a dispute in a village. The trailer suggests a mix of action, romance, and comedy.
Speaking of the “Trishul”, Vaishnav Tej says, “Ten percent of Aadikeshava is about Lord Shiva. The ‘Trishul’ which is a divine symbol of Hinduism, is associated with Lord Shiva, one of his powerful weapons. That is the reason why the Trishul is shown in the title.”
He adds, “What’s the connection between the story and Lord Shiva? Why the name Aadikeshava, the name by which Lord Vishnu is fondly called. All this will be answered in the film.”
“It’s not necessarily a preachy one. Nor is it about spirituality. It’s just the premise with which the story begins. If you observe the trailer, I am called Rudrakaleswar Reddy and also Bala Kotaiah. One has to watch the film for the twist,” says Vaishnav Tej.
Aadikeshava has star actor Sreeleela as the female lead. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are producing the film under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinema.

It was during the shooting of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga (2022) that Naga Vamsi introduced director Srikanth to Vaishnav Tej.
Speaking about the film, the actor says, “He narrated the story to me. Srikanth had a commitment with producer Naga Vamsi to make a film under these lines of Shiva and Vishnu etc. It felt unique for its storyline.”
Vaishnav Tej says that Aadikeshava has all the ingredients to be a commercial family entertainer, “The songs, romance, and action. I won’t be thrashing goons unlike you see a star hero do in a big film.”
“Whether it is the action or the romantic track, everything is designed in an organic way. But the climax has been packaged in a true cinematic form. None of the other sequences will be out of the ordinary nor will it give you an over-the-top feeling,” he claims.
Vaishnav Tej has gotten to work with Malayalam actor Joju George for the first time. Conversations with Jogu on the sets of Aadikeshava reminded him of Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi.
Speaking about his co-actor, he says, “Talking with Joju was like conversing with Vijay Sethupathi. What both have in common is that both of them are foodies. I loved Joju’s company. He is one of the most extremely talented and grounded people that I’ve seen so far.”
“I also felt great working with veteran actor Radhika Sarathkumar. I should thank her for her friendly nature. She is a bundle of energy and a thorough professional. When I was nervous to strike up a conversation with her just before the shoot, she made me comfortable,” he adds.
