Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab re-release on 1 May

Lately, there’s been a surge in the re-release trend in Tollywood. However, audiences have been losing interest with too many re-releases flooding theatres. Yet, some of them have seen success when they re-release with a strategy.

Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab (2021) is being planned in the same manner. The film is slated for a grand worldwide re-release by Sri Venkateswara Creations on 1 May.

This Telugu remake of Bollywood original Pink (2016) was a commercial potboiler two years ago.

Fans believe that the Pawan Kalyan-starrer could have run for a few more days in theatres, had the makers planned it well.

Vakeel Saab precisely has a 12-day gap between its re-release on 1 May and the election polling in Andhra Pradesh. The political fever has already reached its zenith in the state.

Meanwhile, social media users recall how Vakeel Saab had to face challenges during its release in 2021.

The state government did not allow the makers to hike ticket prices. No additional shows were permitted. It also resulted in losses to a few distributors in certain locations.

Now, the filmmakers feel that the Pawan Kalyan-starrer could help grab the audiences to theatres as they feel that there is a slight opposition against the ruling party. They also believe that the re-release of Vakeel Saab may work well in terms of revenue.

Since there is no major film releasing on May Day (1 May), Vakeel Saab may rule the box office. And a few movies releasing on 3 May might not show any effect on the film.

S Thaman’s music adds a distinctive feel to this courtroom drama which was directed by Venu Sriram.

Amidst the politically charged atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh, Vakeel Saab stands to gain good publicity as it features Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan.

Despite having the option of online streaming of Vakeel Saab, the experience of watching it in theatres offers a unique thrill.
