Gadag SP clarified that Nikhil's two-wheeler collided head-on with another police vehicle, which was not escorting the actor.
Despite Rocking Star Yash repeatedly pleading with his fans not to chase his vehicle or do anything that puts their lives in danger, another diehard fan of the Kannada actor has succumbed to injuries.
Nikhil Gowda, 22, met with an accident while chasing the vehicle in which Yash was heading towards Hubbali from Gadag.
While doing so, the deceased reportedly rammed into the police vehicle that was escorting Yash’s vehicle near Mulgund Naka. He was immediately taken to hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
According to reports, Nikhil was an engineering student and a resident of Binkadakatti village in the Gadag district. He was a fan of Yash.
After learning that his favourite actor visited Gadag to meet four of his fans who suffered injuries on 8 January while erecting his birthday banner, Nikhil rushed to Gadag. However, when he could not get a glimpse of Yash. So, he reportedly started chasing Yash’s vehicle on his two-wheeler.
Near Mulgund Naka, Nikhil’s two-wheeler rammed into the police escort that was following the actor’s vehicle and the youth sustained serious injuries.
Yash, who after visiting the bereaved families of the three youths who died of electrocution on 8 January, expressed that he would feel disgusted whenever his birthday approached.
“No one wants such things to happen. This is the reason I stopped celebrating my birthdays, especially after the reports of new variants of COVID-19 came out. I urged my fans on several occasions not to put up any banners or indulge in any such celebrations. I witnessed many chase my vehicles. Even if some feel bad, I kindly urge everyone to be safe and avoid indulging in such celebrations,” Yash told the media after meeting the bereaved families.
On multiple occasions, Challenging Star Darshan, too, urged his fans not to chase his vehicle for selfies or to get a glimpse of him.
Following reports that Nikhil rammed into the police vehicle that was escorting Yash, Gadag Superintendent of Police BS Nemagoudarhas told the media that it was not the case.

The senior police said that since several police vehicles were escorting Yash’s vehicle, there was no chance of anyone chasing it. Nikhil’s accident occurred much later after the actor left for his destination.
