GV Pprakash Kumar's Kalvan is based on wildlife

Music director-actor GV Prakash Kumar will next be seen in Kalvan. The Tamil movie will also feature Ivana and Bharathirajaa in key roles.

The plot of Kalvan revolves around the human-animal conflict.

Director PV Shankar recently told a mainstream media outlet that the film features a sequence with a herd of six to seven elephants shot live without VFX.

He added that such scenes are usually shot abroad. But Kalvan‘s crew trained the elephants and shot the sequences in Kerala’s Palakkad.

GV Prakash was also trained with the elephants for four to five days.

The elephants play an important role in Kalvan as the film is based on wildlife.

According to the filmmaker, the Tamil movie addresses the issue of elephants migrating from one place to another due to climate change.

Kalvan is written by PV Shankar and Ramesh Aiyappan.

PV Shankar is the cinematographer. GV Prakash Kumar composed the music.

The film is slated for release this summer.
