'Jailer' audio launched in Chennai on 28 June; titles of Dulquer's next films revealed; Sathyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan film in pipeline.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest flick Jailer will have a mega release on 10 August. The movie has an ensemble cast, including superstars Shiva Rajkumar (Kannada), Mohanlal (Malayalam), and Jackie Shroff (Bollywood).
The first-look posters of these actors have created a buzz among their fans. The audio launch of Jailer was held in Chennai on Friday, 28 June.
During the event, Rajinikanth revealed that though he received calls from various corners asking to change the director Nelson Dilipkumar, as his earlier flick Beast (2022) garnered criticism, he wasn’t ready to do that.
About Mohanlal, who dons the role of Mathew in Jailer, Rajinikanth remarked, “What a human being he is? He is a great actor and he astonished me.”
This is the first time both Rajinikanth and Mohanlal have teamed up for a movie.
Director Nelson stated that Mohanlal readily agreed to act in Jailer as he admires Rajinikanth.
Jailer is Rajinikanth’s 169th movie and is produced by Sun Pictures.
Dulquer Salmaan celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday, 28 July. His next King of Kotha is slated for release in August. It is the biggest film in his career and is produced by Wayfarer Films owned by Dulquer himself.
Marking his birthday, the young actor revealed on his social media that he has two non-Malayalam films on the cards.
Dulquer’s next with Vaathi/Sir (2023) director Venky Atluri is titled Lucky Baskhar. In a poster released by the makers on Friday, a smiling Dulquer’s face is sen hidden by ₹100 notes, giving the impression that the project would mostly be about financial transactions.
Written by director Atluri himself, Lucky Baskhar is jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music.
The Malayalam actor is also doing a film with Telugu actor-producer Rana Dagubbati’s banner Spirit Media — Kaantha. According to the actor, this movie is a rare opportunity where he found a story that has the power to be a good cinema.
In another update, the young actor shared the song “Kalapakkara” from his upcoming movie King of Kotha. The mass masala song is composed by Jakes Bejoy and is released in different languages.
The song has now become popular on social media.
Sathyan Anthikad and Sreenivasan delivered some super hits in Malayalam in the 90s and later too.
Their super-hit films include Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu (1988) and Sandesham (1991). They both teamed up again in 2018 for Njan Prakashan.
Meanwhile, a new Facebook post by Anoop Sathyan, son of Sathyan Anthikad, hinted that the two veterans are coming together again for a flick.
In his post, Anoop wrote: “My dad told me that he’s going to sit with Sreeni for his next.”
Anoop Sathyan debuted as a director with Dulquer Salmaan’s Varane Avashyamundu in 2020.
