Mallika Sukumaran trolled for supporting NDA

Veteran Malayalam actor Mallika Sukumaran, the mother of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Indrajith Sukumaran, hogs the limelight with her interviews.

However, one such interview where she expressed her political stance became the target of trolls.

In a recent interview, the video of which went viral on social media, Mallika Sukumaran endorsed the NDA candidates in Kerala and asked the people to vote for the NDA alliance.

She asked the people of Kerala to consider Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice and vote for the “good share of (NDA) candidates” he recommended in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on 26 April.

Mallika Sukumaran also pointed out that though Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityananth and the BJP and NDA leaders from North India were facing severe criticism in Kerala, they had been winning the elections on their home turf.

This did not go down well with trolls and they started targeting her.

Soon, a netizen wrote: “Is this what Prithviraj has to say too?”.

Another user said, “We are letting you be because you are Prithviraj’s mother.”

Meanwhile, another netizen commented, “As if we are going to vote for BJP when you tell.”

Interestingly in 2019, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Indrajith Sukumaran supported the CAA protests taken out in the Jamia Millia University in Delhi and rallied along with the university students.

A few netizens pointed this out and wondered how she could bat for NDA in Kerala.
