Saiju Kurup’s ‘Bharathanatyam’ to release on 23 August, first look out

The film marks the debut of writer Krishnadas Murali as a director and Saiju Kurup as a producer.

The first look of Saiju Kurup’s latest flick, Bharathanatyam, has been unveiled. The actor is turning a producer with this venture.

While unveiling the first look, the makers announced that Bharathanatyam would be released in theatres on 23 August.

The first look features its lead actors Saiju Kurup and Saikumar, who interestingly look up while everyone else in the poster looks straight.

Bharathanatyam marks the directorial debut of Krishnadas Murali, who penned the script.

Sharing the poster on social media, Saiju Kurup announced that Bharathanatyam marks his maiden production venture in collaboration with Thomas Thiruvalla Films. He also disclosed that his “long-standing desire came to fruition” due to the incredible amount of love and encouragement he received from everyone over the past 19 years in his journey in the film industry.”

Bharathanatyam features Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Swathi Das Prabhu, and Nandu Poduval in key roles.

It has cinematography by Bablu Aju, music by Samuel Aby. and the editing by Shadeeque VB.

Meanwhile, Saiju Kurup will next be seen in Porattu Naadakam, which is scheduled to hit theatres on 9 August.

He was last seen in GU directed by debutant Manu Radhakrishnan. The film was a fantasy horror and it featured Saiju Kurup and child actor Deva Nandha as father and daughter. Interestingly, they both previously worked together in the Unni Mukundan-starrer Malikappuram (2022).

GU was released in May this year and re-released on 19 July.

Saiju Kurup’s slate of upcoming projects includes Abhilasham, Porattu Nadakam, and Written and Directed by God.

The actor is also making his digital debut with the SonyLIV web series Jai Mahendran. The show is touted to be a political drama presented in a light-hearted tone.
