Jai Ganesh: Unni Mukundan says he loves promotions.

Unni Mukundan’s new Malayalam movie Jai Ganesh will hit the theatres on 11 April. Directed by Ranjith Sankar, it is touted to be a superhero film.

However, the makers haven’t revealed anything about this aspect. Unni Mukundan plays the titular role of Ganesh, a wheelchair-bound person, in the flick. The story revolves around the unexpected events in his life.

According to the actor, he could connect with the character as he had a childhood friend who was wheelchair-bound.

Love to promote my films: Unni Mukundan

Addressing a promotional event of Jai Ganesh in Kochi, Unni Mukundan said he believes in promotions and does not like releasing a flick silently. He felt that people need to know about the hard work that went into a movie.

He also stated that he does a movie only out of keen interest and dedicates himself to the project.

“I like talking for long hours about my films. Through these promotions, we want the audience to understand what our films are all about,” he quipped.

Unni Mukundan said he was releasing his small film (Jai Ganesh) on the same day as big movies (Varshangalkku Shesham and Aavesham) only because he was confident about his venture and cinema meant a celebration for him.

He disclosed that he was asked to dub the movie in other languages. “But director Renjith Sankar and I didn’t go for dubbed versions since we felt it was a pure Malayalam movie.”

Mahima Nambiar, who plays the female lead in Jai Ganesh, said her role in the flick would be different from her previous role in RDX (2023).

Jai Ganesh also stars Ashokan, Jomol, Ravindra Vijay, Hareesh Perady, and Nandu.

Chandru Selvaraj is the cinematographer. Sankar Sharma composed the music.

The makers recently released the trailer and songs.
