Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly suspects that the rape complaint filed against him could be part of a conspiracy.
In his complaint to the ADGP of the Crime Branch, the actor suggested the possibility that individuals from the Malayalam film industry might be behind these allegations.
Nivin Pauly also called for a thorough investigation into the origins of the rape complaint, emphasising his suspicion that there is a serious conspiracy targeting prominent figures in Malayalam cinema.
Soon after the allegation surfaced, the actor recently sent an e-mail to the DGP regarding the possibility of a conspiracy.
A rape case was registered against Nivin Pauly and five others at the Oonnukal Police Station in Ernakulam, based on a woman’s complaint.
The First Information Report was filed under various sections of the IPC, including 354 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman), 376D (gang rape), 354C (voyeurism), 450 (trespass), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376(2)(n) (repeated rape of the same woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
Nivin Pauly was named as the sixth accused in the case. The other accused are Shreya, film producer AK Sunil, Binu, Basheer, and Kuttan.
The complainant alleged that the accused sexually assaulted her in Dubai after promising her a role in a film.
Hours after the allegation, Nivin Pauly addressed the media asserting his innocence and stating that he would fight until the truth prevails.
Meanwhile, actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan supported Nivin Pauly, saying that they were together in Kochi on the date of the alleged rape in Dubai.
Vineeth Sreenivasan claimed that the actor was working with him on their movie Varshangalkku Shesham (2024) in Kochi. He also shared a bill from the hotel where he and Nivin Pauly stayed, to prove the latter’s innocence.
Actors Bhagath Manuel and Parvathy Krishna also confirmed that Nivin Pauly was shooting with them on the date the alleged sexual assault was reported.
