Ram Gopal Varma visits 'Empuraan' sets. (X)
Director Ram Gopal Varma visited the sets of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal’s big venture L2: Empuraan, over the weekend.
Taking to the social media site, X, the director shared pictures with Mohanlal and the actor-director Prithviraj.
“Memories of COMPANY..Met the one and only Mohanlal, after a long long time,” Ram Gopal Varma wrote on X.
Ram Gopal Varma and Mohanlal have previously collaborated for the 2006 gangster drama, Company. The film also starred Vivek Oberoi and Ajay Devgn.

The director also shared a selfie with Prithviraj praising the actor-director. He wrote: “Me the DIRECTOR watching an ACTOR direct ..Sir Prithviraj ,if you take away our job also, what will we do?”
Reacting to the post, Prithviraj credited the senior director for inspiring him.
Noting the influence Ram Gopal Varma had on Indian cinema, Prithviraj wrote: “Nobody..NOBODY..can take away what you have done for Indian cinema Sir! Was a privilege to have you on sets!”
Later in the day, he also shared a photo of the cast and crew of Empuraan and penned a note.
“Like every filmmaker that’s grown up watching modern Indian cinema, I too, am hugely inspired by the craft of this legend. An absolute master on how to use the camera as a narrative tool, so many of his films have left an indelible mark on cinema.”
He further wrote, “Truly one of the greatest ever this country has produced, it was a privilege to have you on sets and talk at length about art and cinema with you Sir. And oh..I cannot wait for that smashing “comeback”. Vintage RGV underworld! ”

L2 Empuraan is a sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer. The film is currently in its last leg of shooting in Kerala.
The film completed shooting its foreign schedule in April and then moved to Gujarat to shoot for the flashback portions which will tell the story of the lead character done by Mohanlal.
However, the Gujarat schedule was delayed owing to heavy rains and flooding in the region in September. After which, the team moved to Hyderabad for a short schedule and then to Kerala.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film has Manju Warrier, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others in lead roles. L2: Empuraan is touted to be an action entertainer.
The shooting of L2: Empuraan started in October 2023. Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions are jointly producing it.
It will be simultaneously released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
