Starring Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles, Premalu is an out-and-out entertainer with a normal love story that has been executed well.
Filmmaker Priyadarshan, who watched the movie recently in Kochi, described Premalu as a movie with an entertainment value.
Priyadarshan noted that the film has realistic elements in the right proportions, including comedy, and that the new generation of filmmakers is well aware of how to pull off such stuff.
Premalu witnessed good booking across theatres on Wednesday, 14 February (Valentine’s Day).
It is expected to draw more crowds to cinema halls this Valentine’s Week and throw tough competition to the projects releasing this Friday.
Anweshippin Kandethum, which was released last week, is also doing well in theatres.
The Malayalam box office will see tough competition this week as Mammootty’s Bramayugam is releasing on 15 February.
Shot in Black-and-White format, the film promises to offer a different experience to the audience.
Thund, starring Biju Menon, Marivillin Gopurangal, and Indrajith Sukumaran, will be released on 16 February.
In all, four Malayalam films will hit the theatres in Kerala this week.
