On her birthday, Manju Warrier's song from 'Vettaiyan' breaks internet

Malayalam actor Manju Warrier is celebrating her 46th birthday on Tuesday, 10 September. A day before her birthday, the makers of her upcoming Tamil movie Vettaiyan released a song featuring her with Rajinikanth.

The “Manasilayo” song, launched in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages, has caused a storm on social media.

The “Manasilaayo” song, composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander, has ever since become the talk of the town.

A major highlight of the soundtrack is the use of AI technology to regenerate the voice of late singer Malaysia Vasudevan, which has been in the news for some time now.

The “Manasilayo” song showcases impressive dance moves by Rajinikanth and Anirudh Ravichander, which have been widely praised. However, Malayalee fans are particularly celebrating the Vettaiyan song for Manju Warrier, who raised many eyebrows with her excellent dance moves alongside Rajinikanth.

Netizens praised the song for featuring Manju Warrier in a standout role. As a classical dancer, the actor hasn’t had many opportunities to showcase her dancing skills in recent films. As a result, the “Manasilayo” song has become noteworthy.

In the Vettaiyan song, Manju Warrier is seen in a red saree sporting sunglasses, a look that complements her style. She previously revealed that she will play the role of Rajinikanth’s wife in the movie. The Malayalam actor also mentioned that she took on the role in Vettaiyan to work with TJ Gnanavel, the director of the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim (2021).

Vettaiyan also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Ritika Singh. The film was shot across several locations in South India and Mumbai. The film is slated for release on 10 October.

Manju Warrier made her comeback to films in 2013 with the movie How Old Are You. Her upcoming projects include Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetrimaaran. She made her Tamil debut in Asuran (2019) as Dhanush’s wife.

In Malayalam, Manju Warrier will appear in L2: Empuraan, under the direction of Prithviraj Sukumaran, alongside Mohanlal. She was last seen in the experimental film Footage (2024), which won accolades for the technical finesse and the brilliant performances of the lead actors.
