Nivin Pauly’s new movie, Malayalee From India, is set to premiere on the OTT platform SonyLIV on 5 July. SonyLIV announced the OTT release date on its social media handles.

Malayalee From India marked Nivin Pauly’s comeback after a series of less successful projects, though his cameo in Varshangalkku Shesham (2024) was well-received.

The film opened to mixed reviews and performed decently at the box office but didn’t achieve blockbuster status.

Controversy surrounded the movie upon its release, with scriptwriter Nishad Koya accusing director Dijo Jose Antony of plagiarism. Social media users were divided on the issue. However, after reviewing the scripts and digital evidence, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) cleared Dijo Jose Antony and scriptwriter Sharis Muhammed of any wrongdoing.
