Mohanlal to team up with Anoop Menon for his next. (X)
Mohanlal, who was last seen in his directorial debut Barroz, has a slew of films lined up. Now, the actor has announced that he will be working under the direction of actor-turned-filmmaker Anoop Menon.
The untitled project will be produced by Timeless Movies. Other details regarding the cast and crew are expected to be revealed later.

Mohanlal noted that the subject of the film is close to his heart. Sharing the news, the actor wrote on Instagram, “I am delighted to announce my next film, a dramatic journey traversing love, longing, and music to be shot extensively in Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Shillong. Written and directed by Anoop Menon and featuring a stellar team BTS, produced by Timeless Movies, this subject is so close to my heart. I sincerely welcome all of you to be part of our epic journey.”
Resharing the post, the director called it a lifelong dream come true.
He further wrote: “My next stint as a writer and director will be with the one and only L….Laletta, I promise to strive my best to make this film worthy of the ultimate fanboy that I am…”
Interestingly, Anoop made his debut as a screenwriter with the Mohanlal-starrer Pakal Nakshatrangal (2008).
He will be next seen in Prithviraj’s directorial L2: Empuraan. Apart from that, he has Rambaan, and Vrushabha in the pipeline.
Currently, he is shooting for Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also features actors Sidhique and Malavika Mohan.
The script for Hridayapoorvam has been written by debutant Sonu TP. The cinematography is handled by Anu Moothedath. The music and background score will be composed by Justin Prabhakaran.
