Mammootty’s next venture, Dominic and The Lady’s Purse is ready and set for release. The film also marks the debut of Gautam Vasudev Menon in the Malayalam film industry.
The thriller produced by Mammootty’s production house Mammootty Kampany, is set to release on 23 January. Gautham co-authored the script with Neeraj Rajan and Suresh Rajan, who earlier wrote Dulquer Salmaan’s ABCD (2013) and contributed to Joju George’s Iratta (2023).
Gautham Menon’s debut in Malayalam cinema was highly anticipated, especially after the director expressed his interest in working with Fahadh Faasil and Mammootty.
While Dominic and The Lady’s Purse is Gautam Menon’s first Malayalam film, he made a brief appearance in Anwar Rasheed’s Trance in 2020. He also plays the role of a police officer in the upcoming Mammootty starrer Bazooka.
Sharing the release date, the makers wrote: “If 2024 was epic, just wait to see what 2025 holds! Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse will be released worldwide on January 23, 2025! Stay tuned as we prepare to unravel some mysteries!”

The first-look poster, which was revealed on Mammootty’s birthday, featured the actor in a room set up for an investigation, with a cat seen in the background, possibly hinting at it being the protagonist’s pet.
While it’s unclear if Mammootty will be investigating his case or will play the role of Dominic, the first-look poster has already sparked curiosity among fans.
Dominic and The Lady’s Purse is billed as an investigative thriller. The cast includes Gokul Suresh, Lena, and Viji Venkatesh, known for her performance in Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum (2023).
This marks the sixth venture of the banner. Its previous release, Turbo (2024), was a box-office success and is now streaming on SonyLIV.
