A thrilling trailer for Shaji Kailas’s upcoming directorial with actor Bhavana, Hunt, has been released. The trailer promises a riveting investigation thriller with paranormal elements.
As per the Hunt trailer, the Malayalam movie centres on a murder that happens in a college and the investigation surrounding it. In the film, Bhavana plays a forensic expert named Dr Keerthi. During her investigation, she realises it’s not one random killing but a series of murders.
Hunt was written by Nikhil Anand and produced by K Radhakrishnan under his banner—Goodwill Entertainments. It will be released on 23 August. The film was earlier supposed to hit the theatres on 9 August but was pushed due to Wayanad landslides.
The other cast includes Renji Panikkar, Chandhunath, Dain Davis, Anu Mohan, G Suresh Kumar, Ajmal Ameer, Rahul Madhav, Biju Pappan, Nandhu, and Vijayakumar.
The music was composed by Kailas Menon. Jackson Johnson was in charge of cinematography. Ajas Pukkadan was the editor.
The Shaji Kailas film started rolling some time ago. It is one of the films in Malayalam cinema that Bhavana signed after a long break.
Further, Hunt marks the second collaboration between Shaji Kailas and Bhavana after their superhit crime thriller Chinthamani Kolacase (2006). Suresh Gopi played the lead role in the flick.
Hunt built good anticipation among fans and movie buffs as it was helmed by Shaji Kailas, who is popular for making thrillers.
Bhavana made a comeback in Malayalam with Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn (2023) where she shared the screen with Sharaf U Dheen. Her latest release was Nadikar (2024), where Tovino Thomas played the male lead. However, both films failed to do good business at the box office.
Meanwhile, Shaji Kailas’s last venture was Kaapa, (2022) with Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie was a box office hit. The duo earlier worked for Kaduva, which also was released in 2022. The film minted money for its makers.
