Asif Ali’s ‘Rekhachitram’ to release on 9 January, 2025

Rekhachitram to release on 9 January, 2025

After the success of Kishkindha Kaandam, Asif Ali, is now gearing up for his next release Rekhachitram. The film directed by Jofin T Chacko is set to hit the screens on 9 January, 2025.

Jofin T Chacko debuted with Mammootty’s The Priest (2021), a horror thriller. The upcoming Malayalam film has Anaswara Rajan as the female lead. It also boasts an ensemble cast that includes Manoj K Jayan, Siddique, Indrans, Zarin Shihab, Bhama Arun, Megha Thomas, Nishanth Sagar, Harisree Ashokan, and Sreekanth Murali.

The release date was announced by the makers on Sunday, along with a poster starring the lead actors.

The first-look poster of Rekhachitram comes with the tagline: “An Alternate History”, and features Asif Ali as a police officer and Anaswara Rajan as a nun. Interestingly, she is presented in monochrome, implying that she could be the “history” mentioned in the tagline.

It was written by John Manthrikal and is based on a story penned by Jofin and Ramu Sunil. Mujeeb Majeed is scoring the music for the film.

On the technical front, Rekhachitram features cinematography by Appu Prabhakar and editing by Shameer Muhammed.

Venu Kunnappilly’s Kavya Film Company and Anto Joseph’s Ann Mega Media are jointly producing the film. At the film’s launch, Asif Ali told the media that it was the biggest in his career. He also stated that it was supposed to begin earlier but was delayed due to some reason.

Upcoming projects

Asif Ali, who has a great 2024, with Kishkindha Kaandam, ThalavanLevel Cross, and Adios Amigo, now has a slew of films lined up including Rohit VS’s Tiki Taka, Sethu Nath Padmakumar’s Abhyanthara KuttavaliThamar KV’s untitled project, and Jis Joy’s Thalavan 2.

Meanwhile, Anaswara Rajan also had a good year with pivotal roles in Ozler and Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil. She will be next seen in Painkili and Ennu Swantham Punyalan among others that are scheduled to release next year.
