As Fahadh Faasil celebrates his birthday, wishes pour in from makers of his upcoming films

Fahadh Faasil is celebrating his 42nd birthday on Thursday, 8 August. He is quite busy with acting commitments and production ventures.

His banner, Fahadh Faasil and Friends, recently co-produced the blockbuster Malayalam movie Aavesham (2024), headlined by Fahadh Faasil himself. He is also part of Bhavana Studios, which bankrolled the sensational hit film Premalu (2024).

Fondly called FaFa by his friends and fans, Fahadh evolved into a versatile actor who can excel in roles across different genres. Apart from his home turf (Malayalam), he proved his mettle in Telugu and Tamil cinema.

The actor is known for his expressive performances, with his eyes playing a crucial role in conveying emotions. His notable roles in other languages include Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise (2021, Telugu), Kamal Haasan’s Vikram (2022, Tamil), and Udhyanidhi Stalin’s Maamannan (2023, Tamil).

Fahadh Faasil, the son of veteran Malayalam director Fazil, emerged as an actor with a significant market value over the past decade. No wonder he enjoys a huge fanbase across industries and worldwide.

In an interview, Telugu actor Allu Arjun mentioned that the makers of Pushpa: The Rise (2022) roped in Fahadh Faasil because they wanted an actor with both acting prowess and star value to play the negative role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS.

Fahadh Faasil is now busy with a couple of non-Malayalam films, including Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule, Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, and Vadivelu’s Mareesan.

Some of his forthcoming multilingual films include Oxygen and Don’t Trouble the Trouble, both produced by Arka Mediaworks and Showing Business.

Fahadh’s upcoming Malayalam films include Amal Neerad’s directorial Bougainvillea and Mahesh Narayanan’s untitled film with Mammootty, which will start rolling next year.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Fahadh Faasil’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming films revealed extended to him heartfelt wishes.

Manju Warrier on Vettaiyan: It’s a quintessential Rajinikanth film

Vettaiyan

One of Fahadh Faasil’s most anticipated projects is Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. Interestingly, the Malayalam actor, who played intense characters in his previous non-Malayalam outings, will portray a lighter role in this movie.

Fahadh himself confirmed that he is doing a comedy role in Vettaiyan.

The makers, Lyca Productions, unveiled the first glimpse of Fahadh Faasil’s character. They also launched a picture of the actor with Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan.

Besides the three, Vettaiyan also casts Ritika Singh, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Sharwanand. It is directed by TJ Gnanavel and is reportedly slated for release in October.

Pushpa: The Rule

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule, a sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, is another most-anticipated film of the year. In the Telugu movie, Fahadh Faasil returns as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS.

While Fahadh got less screen time in the first part, fans are eagerly waiting for a face-off between his Bhanwar and Allu Arjun’a Pushpa Raj in the sequel.

Pushpa: The Rule boasts a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, and Jagadish Prathap. Directed by Sukumar, the film is in its last leg of shooting. The crew is shooting a major action scene for the climax.

Renji Panicker’s untitled film

On Fahadh Faasil’s birthday, a new Malayalam movie under the direction of veteran scriptwriter-filmmaker Renji Panicker was announced. It will be produced by Goodwill Entertainments.

While announcing the film, the makers shared a short video, which hints at a mass entertainer.

The title of the project will be revealed soon. The story is believed to be set against the backdrop of the Idukki district.

Renji Panicker, who is now busy as an actor, is wielding the megaphone after a gap of 16 years. Roudram (2008) was his last directorial.

Maareesan

Maareesan will feature Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. The duo previously worked together on Maamannan. While Fahadh mesmerised the audience with his terrific performance as an antagonist, Vadivelu stole the show in a never-before-seen avatar.

As a result, Maareesan is drawing huge expectations from the audience. However, unlike earlier, Maareesan is a comedy entertainer.

The forthcoming Tamil film is directed by Sudheesh Shankar and produced by Super Good Films. More details about the movie are yet to be revealed.

Oxygen

Oxygen is a multilingual film inspired by true stories. Reports suggest that it will revolve around friendship.

It is helmed by director Siddhartha Nadella and is expected to be released later this year. SS Karthikeya and Arka Mediaworks are producing it.

SS Karthikeya, the son of director SS Rajamouli, announced his debut production ventures in May this year, both starring Fahadh Faasil as the protagonist. The other project is Don’t Trouble The Trouble, directed by Shashank Yeleti.
