Kathanar-The Wild Sorcerer is the much-anticipated movie of Jayasurya. Baahubali actor Anushka Shetty is the female lead.
National Award-winning filmmaker Rojin Thomas is helming it.
In the Malayalam film, Jayasurya plays the role of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a priest from Kerala possessed with magical powers.
Anushka Shetty is expected to play a crucial role in the flick. The actor joined the sets on Monday, 11 March.
“Anushka Shetty plays a different role in Kathanar-The Wild Sorcerer. We are happy to work with her. This is just a start and many films are to be followed,” executive producer Krishnamoorthy said while welcoming Anushka onboard.
Anushka Shetty last appeared in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty (2023), directed by Mahesh Babu P.
A few days after its theatrical release, the Telugu film topped the box-office collections in the USA by riding against the wave of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (2023).
Kathanar-The Wild Sorcerer has piqued the interest of film buffs as it blends horror and fantasy elements. The movie revolves around the life of Kathanar, a legendary sorcerer known for his supernatural powers.
It is a pan-India film and will be released in seven languages. The makers claim that it will offer a thrilling cinematic experience to the audience.
Kathanar-The Wild Sorcerer is being shot using Virtual Production technology. sThe makers launched a two-minute video from the film sets for Jayasuryas’s birthday last year.
Rahul Subrahmanian Unni is composing the music.
Neil D Cunha is the cinematographer.
Jungjin Park is the action choreographer.
