‘Aadujeevitham’ Day 1 collection: Grosses ₹15 crore worldwide and ₹7 crore in India

Trade experts say the Prithviraj-starrer collected around ₹5.86 crore through 116 shows in Kerala alone.

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and director Blessy’s latest outing, Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), is drawing praise from audiences worldwide for its technical finesse and brilliant performances.

Blessy spent 16 years of his life in the making of Aadujeevitham.

The tremendous response and the box office collection on Day 1 show that the efforts of Blessy and the crew paid off.

The movie is considered a classic by some critics.

Having been released in five languages in around 2,000 theatres across the globe, the film is doing wonders at the box office.

Aadujeevitham raked in around ₹15 crore gross worldwide on its opening day.

According to the Sacnilk tracking website, it grossed  7-7.5 crore from five languages in the domestic market.

It also witnessed a good occupancy rate in all theatres, with Malayalam at 57.79 percent, Tamil at 17.84 percent, Telugu at 14.46 percent, Kananda at 4.14 percent, and Hindi at 4.14 percent.

Trade experts say the Prithviraj-starrer collected around ₹5.86 crore through 116 shows in Kerala alone, with an outstanding occupancy of 93 percent.

Impressive pre-sales

The film created a lot of buzz before its release, thanks to the aggressive promotional activities. It earned ₹1.3 crore in pre-sales from Kerala.

Further, it earned an advance collection of ₹2.51 crore in Kerala from 1,040 tracked shows. This is without some major releasing centres in Kochi and other smaller cities like Kottayam, where there were no shows on account of Good Friday.

Extra shows have been added in the UK. It also saw a good opening in North America.

The movie was only released in UAE in the GCC countries, as other countries did not give it a censor certificate.

In response to the overwhelming response the survival drama is receiving worldwide, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran thanked everyone for owning his latest venture.

Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) is one of the biggest films in Prithviraj’s career. It is based on the best-selling novel “Aadujeevitham” written by Benyamin.

Amala Paul plays the female lead (Sainu) in the movie.

Produced under the banner of Visual Romance, the film also features Jimmy Jean-Louis (Hollywood actor), KR Gokul, and famous Arab actors Talib Al Balushi and Rickabi.
