Makers of Yash's 'Toxic' clarify on casting speculations

A week ago, social media was rife with speculation about the casting of Yash’s Toxic. There were speculations that Shruthi Haasan, Sai Pallavi, and Kareena Kapoor might star in the Kannada film.

Adding to the fire, a 20-second clip of Kareena Kapoor announcing that she is doing a “big South film” was doing rounds on X.

In the video clip from her recent interview, Kareena Kapoor said she is now part of a South film, which might be pan-Indian.

Despite the actor not revealing further details, it is speculated that she is referring to Toxic.

Amid all the speculation and anticipation, the makers of Toxic — KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations — released a statement that read, “There are many unsubstantiated theories and information doing rounds about the casting of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups.”

It further read: “We truly appreciate the excitement around Toxic, but at this point, we would request everyone to refrain from speculation. The casting process for the film is near completion, and we are thrilled with the team we have onboard. As we gear up to bring this story to life, we request everyone to wait for the official announcements.”

This Geethu Mohandas’ directorial assures to be a thriller filled with high-octane action sequences.

The one-minute-17-second title announcement video of Toxic, released earlier, had several interesting features, including Yash’s avatar as a circus joker with tickets burning.

It eventually reveals the Kannada actor in his trademark beard look holding a Tommy gun in a gangster attire with a blazer and a hat on.

The team has also called for auditions in various age groups.
