A discussion on the career of star actor Keerthy Suresh would be incomplete without mentioning her role in Mahanati (2018).
Before and after its release, Mahanati served as a significant milestone in the actor’s career. It was a blockbuster hit in terms of revenue and mirroring the life of yesteryear star late Savithri.
Srinivas Avasarala portrayed the role of Telugu cinema doyen LV Prasad in Mahanati.
It is learnt that his character stood out for his impressive performance. Of late, Avasarala’s remarks on Keerthy Suresh are going viral on the internet.
Srinivas Avasarala disclosed that he was sceptical if Keerthy would pull off the role.
He said he initially doubted Keerthy Suresh’s ability to convey complex emotions as she had always been a “commercial heroine”. However, her character in Mahanati proved critics wrong.
Director Nag Ashwin’s choice of casting her (Keerthy Suresh) changed the perception of how people. Mahanati cemented her stature as a leading star in the film industry down south, Srinivas Avasarala said.
Avasarala said Nag Ashwin’s choice in casting Keerthy was wrong. He said that after the release of the first look and posters, his opinion had completely changed.
Avasarala earned a good reputation as an actor and director in Telugu cinema. Recently, he played a key role in the film Eagle (2024), starring Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja as the protagonist.
Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh has been busy in the Tamil language.
After Mahanati, most of her ventures in Telugu failed to meet the audience’s expectations.
