Leo first show tamil nadu

So, it’s final! The first shows of director Lokesh Kanakaraj’s Leo, featuring actor Vijay in the lead, will begin only at 9 am on all six days — from 19-24 October in the theatres in Tamil Nadu.

Following the Madras High Court’s directions, Seven Screen Studio on Tuesday, 17 October, made a fresh request to the Tamil Nadu government seeking permission to screen the first show of Leo at 7 am, instead of the prescribed 9 am.

However, the government — after careful consideration of the fresh petition filed by the makers of the much-awaited action entertainer — denied permission for a special show at 7 am and said that the film could be screened only at the stipulated time — 9 am.

It may be recalled that the Tamil Nadu government, in response to an earlier request from the producers of Leo for holding two special shows along with the regular four shows on all six days, granted permission for one additional special show of the film to be held on all six days.

The government also clarified that the film’s screenings should not begin before 9 am and that the final show must end before 1.30 am, on each day.

No clarity for exhibitors on revenue share

Meanwhile, with just a day left for Leo to release, confusion prevails over which theatres are screening the film and which aren’t as the exhibitors and distributors are yet to come to terms over their revenue share.

Rohini Silver Screens, a major multiplex in Chennai, announced that it won’t screen Leo and that no reservations are being made for the film.

AGS Cinemas, one of the leading exhibitors, announced that they had settled the issue and the bookings for Leo would begin on Wednesday morning, 18 October.

Archana Kalpathi, a creative producer of AGS Cinemas, wrote: “Leo Bookings will open early tomorrow @agscinemas. Terms done. Leo will have maximum showcasing across all our properties (Scheduling work has started) Extraordinary ticket pressure 🔥🔥”
