A day after the success meet of director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo, the film’s dialogue writer Rathna Kumar announced that he was taking a break from social media.

In a tweet, Rathna Kumar said, “Going offline for writing. Taking a break from social media until my next film announcement. See you soon.”

Rathna Kumar’s decision to take a temporary break from social media comes in the wake of the severe trolling he was subjected to by fans of actor Rajinikanth after his controversial speech at the success meet of Leo.

In his speech, Rathna Kumar said the eagle, no matter how high it flew, would have to come down to the ground if it was hungry and had to feed.

Rajinikanth’s fans believed that the dialogue writer was hitting out at Rajinikanth, who in one of his earlier speeches, narrated an eagle and a crow story.

As a result, Rajini fans trolled Rathna Kumar severely on social media, soon after which the dialogue writer announced that he was taking a short break to write the story of his next film.

Rathna Kumar’s speech has put director Lokesh Kanagaraj in an uncomfortable position as the young director will next be directing Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie, tentatively being referred to as #Thalaivar171.
