Ban on Shane Nigam Sreenath Bhasi lifted

The Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) lifted the ban imposed on Malayalam actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi on Tuesday, 29 August.

The move came after Sreenath Bhasi wrote an apology letter where he reportedly apologised to the Producers’ Association and expressed deep regret for his behaviour in the past.

Bhasi also stated that he will uphold professionalism and decency on sets in future and that he won’t act indecently and will work in a positive and collaborative work environment.

The film bodies banned the actors in April after receiving multiple complaints from several producers.

It was imposed after a period of non-cooperation by producers following allegations of misconduct by Shane and Sreenath, and disagreements over remuneration demands made by the duo.

While imposing the ban, Producers’ Council president M Renjith pointed out that both Shane and Sreenath were often found under the influence of drugs on the film sets which created difficulties for the producers and the crew.

Actors assure refund

Meanwhile, Shane Nigam assured that he would return the extra money he received for films.

Bhasi also offered to refund the advance payment he received from two producers who expressed their unwillingness to collaborate with the actor.

The decision by the two actors indicated a willingness on the part of the producer’s organisation to consider a fresh start for them after their temporary suspension.

Sreenath Bhasi was in the news last year for all the wrong reasons after he misbehaved with the anchor of a popular YouTube channel during the promotion of his movie Chattambi (Henchman).

He was banned by the film organisations even then.

Meanwhile, Shane Nigam’s new flick RDX got a tremendous response in theatres and is all set to be the Onam winner.

RDX also features Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav in prominent roles
