Yash’s next magnum opus, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, now has a release date.
The action thriller initially set for 10 April 2025 will now hit screens on 19 March 2026. The lead actor announcing the release date, wrote on Instagram: “19-03-2026”, along with a poster.
Hollywood action choreographer JJ Perry recognized for his work on films like Planet of the Apes, Iron Man, and John Wick: Chapter 2, recently took to his Instagram to share his experience of working on Toxic—A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Praising the actor, he said the film will be a “banger”, and that he is proud of the work the team did.
While it is common for South Indian films, especially the “Pan India” ones to be shot in multiple Indian languages, this film, however, is being shot in Kannada and English. Toxic will then be dubbed into multiple Indian languages.
According to a Variety report, Geetu Mohandas speaking on being shot bilingually, said, “Our vision for Toxic is to create a film with a narrative that resonates with both Indian and global audiences.”
Geetu Mohandas, who directed the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Moothon (2019) with Nivin Pauly and Roshan Mathew, is at the helm of this project. Her first film was Liar’s Dice (2013), which featured Geetanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
According to reports, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and international actor Kyle Paul are set to star in the film alongside Yash.
Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations are jointly producing it.
The visual effects will be managed by BAFTA-winning VFX studio DNEG, renowned for their work on Dune: Part Two.
