Anurag Kashyap to debut in Kannada with 8'. (X)
Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is all set to make his debut in Kannada cinema as an actor.
The director-turned-actor is set to play a key role in Sujay Shastri’s sports drama 8. Arvind Venkatesh Reddy is producing the film under his banner AVR Entertainment.
Sharing the news, along with a poster on his Instagram account, Anurag Kashyap wrote: “Announcing my first Kannada film as an actor directed by Sujay Shastry and produced by AVR Entertainments.”
The poster showed Anurag Kashyap in a serious look, holding a football.
Apart from his acting, Anurag Kashyap is also producing the upcoming Kannada film Vaghachipani, directed by Natesh Hegde.
Last year he debuted in Malayalam, as an actor with the film Rifle Club, directed by Aashiq Abu. He will next be seen in Shabna Mohammed’s Delulu, alongside Rima Kalingal.
The film has cinematography by Shinoz, editing by Saiju Sreedharan, and art direction by Appuni Sajan. It will be bankrolled by Pamparam Productions.
Anurag Kashyap shares a good association with Malayalam filmmakers as he also co-produced Geethu Mohandas’s Moothon (2019). His movie Choked (2020), too, starred Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew in the lead role.
In Tamil, Anurag Kashyap also acted as an antagonist in Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja and did a cameo in Vidhuthalai 2.
The director is also presenting the Tamil film Bad Girl, and Malayalam film Footage.
Earlier, he had also said, that he would soon relocate to South India, from Mumbai. According to The Hindu report, he confirmed that he had already left Mumbai. He further added, that he recently paid the first rent of his new house.
