Kannada actors Dingri Nagaraj, Bank Janardhan, and Mimicry Dayanand among 68 chosen for Rajyotsava Awards

Kannada actors Dingri Nagaraj and Bank Janardhan (best known for their comedy roles) and Mimicry Dayanand (recognised for his impressionist skills and stand-up performances) have been chosen for the 68th Rajyotsava Awards.

The Karnataka state government announced the list on Tuesday, 31 October.

Dingri Nagaraj, a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry, is known for his roles in films like Solillada Saradara (1992), Dore (1995), and Bangarada Kalasha (1995). He has over 165 movies to his credit.

Film-TV actor Bank Janardhan is celebrated for his comedic roles. He entertained audiences through films like News (2005), Shhh! (1993), and Tarle Nanmaga (1992) and television serials like Papa Pandu, Mangalya, Jokali, and Robo Family.

Mimicry Dayanand, a popular impressionist, is an actor, standup artist, and TV presenter. His impressions of actors and politicians are widely appreciated. He won several accolades for the same.

Along with 68 individuals, the state also picked 10 organisations for the Rajyotsava Awards for their remarkable contributions across various domains.

The notable recipients include ISRO Chairman S Somanath, Chidambar Rao Jambe for theatre, K Leelavathi Baipadithaya in Yakshagana, Dingri Nagaraj and Bank Janardhan from the Kannada film industry, and several accomplished individuals such as C Naganna, Subbu Holeyar, Dinesh Amin Mattu, and Maya Sharma in journalism.
